WIN in 2010 Joliet NMRA

It took the fourth race of the season, but someone finally dethroned Jason Lee. After sitting out the last two NMRA races Sean Lyon and Mark Biddle decided that it was time to get back into the BFG Drag radial ring. After a transmission failure in Fridays test session, the remainder of the racing weekend looked like it might be a loss. After missing the first round of qualifying, enough parts were rounded up that, with huge help from Dave Klaput of Proformance Racing Transmissions, the Panhandle crew was able to get to the lanes in time for the second round pass. Big thanks to Dave!!! During the thrid round of qualifying on Saturday, Sean turned in an 8.04 in the heat to sit at the number one position.
Once eliminations started, Lyon ran his Panhandle Performance powered machine all the way to the finals against ’09 Champion Jason Lee.
A side-by-side battle and 8.00 elapsed time put the win light on in Lyon’s favor with a .006 margin-of-victory as he
took his first NMRA win since the season ending Bowling Green race against Lee.

Bill Trovato then took a holeshot victory from him in the Bowl.
The NMRA boys still went on to win the championship and the rings.
